Fans have a new duet in mind that they want to hear after listening to Kelly Clarkson’s latest cover performance on her popular NBC talk show.

Earlier this week, the American Idol winner took to the stage for the “Kellyoke” segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show to introduce viewers to her version of Benson Boone’s “Slow It Down.” The 22-year-old included the song on his 2024 album Fireworks & Rollerblades.

Clarkson, 42, did not disappoint as she delivered her emotional performance, which her show shared on Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 17.

“You know you made it when Kelly freaking Clarkson sings your song on her show!!!” one fan wrote in reaction to the video before tagging Boone’s Instagram account to tell him that he “should be so proud of himself, he deserves the world.”

“This performance made me CRY,” one fan revealed, adding that they felt it was “crazy” to still feel “caught off guard sometimes with the emotional impact of her voice and performances” despite being aware of Clarkson’s “Unbelievable talent.”

The powerhouse singer “really just nails them all,” one Instagram user observed as another declared that her “vocals are unmatched.”

“Goodness, I love your rendition of this song!❤️🔥,” one fan applauded as another agreed, writing, “the way she places emotion behind every lyric of a song just makes you love it even more ❤️.”

Several fans also wrote in to request a Clarkson-Boone collaboration.

“We need a duet with @bensonboone ASAP! Such a great rendition,” one Instagram user wrote as another echoed the thought, writing, “We need a duet!”

“Their voices in a duet together would be 🔥🔥🔥,” another person agreed.

While Clarkson often performs with just her band on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she does occasionally invite guests to join her, as she did earlier this week with Jelly Roll. The two delivered a duet of his hit song “I Am Not Okay” that left fans “bawling.”
