A fan on social media shared their thoughts on past fast food trends that they missed, leading to a surprising debate about the soda Sierra Mist.

On X, someone who goes by the username @stacycay wrote, “No you don’t understand, McDonald’s used to have all day breakfast. Pizza Hut had buffets. We used to have Sierra Mist. Times were different.”

While the entire statement drew responses from fans, many started talking about Sierra Mist and whether or not it was a good soda.

“I haven’t heard the name sierra mist in years,” said one fan, as others wrote, “Bring back Sierra Mist,” and “I miss you so much Sierra Mist…..” Another called the soda “tremendous” and wondered what happened to it.

Sierra Mist was discontinued in 2023 and replaced with the soda Starry. While some people equate them, the two drinks have different formulas, with Sierra Mist using cane sugar while the newer drink uses high-fructose corn syrup.

The discontinuation of Sierra Mist was also reportedly a result of a legal battle with a content creator who goes by Cierra Mistt.

Some people brought up Starry in the comments, leading Sierra Mist fans to say, “STARRY IS NOT THE SAME,” “Starry def doesn’t hit the same,” and “Starry is such a terrible soda.”

But there were also a bunch of people who didn’t miss Sierra Mist at all, like someone who replied, “tbh we are better off without sierra mist.”

Others said it “sucked,” “was garbage,” and “was awful,” with one writing, “Nobody was drinking Sierra Mist yal need to let that go.”
