Xbox has just announced the first wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, and one of them is available to play right now.

Rain World, an indie survival game developed by Videocult and released in 2017, is available to play right now on Game Pass (Cloud, Console, and PC). Rain World sees players step into the paws(?) of a “nomadic slugcat,” a creature with a precarious place in the food chain. The slugcat in question is both predator and prey, using a spear to defend itself from larger predators in Rain World, which takes place in a broken ecosystem full of industrial waste. Players must hunt to survive, but they won’t be the only ones hunting, as bigger (and far deadlier) creatures are also on the hunt, and they apparently have a taste for slugcats.

Of course, other titles are hitting the subscription service later this month, including Assassin’s Creed: Mirage and Aliens: Fireteam Elite. The following titles are headed to Game Pass later in August:

  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Console) – August 6
  • Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Console) – August 6
  • MechWarrior 5: Clans (Console) – August 6
  • Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Console) – August 6
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage (Cloud, Console, and PC via Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass) – August 7
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 12
  • 9 Kings (Game Preview) (PC via Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass) – August 14

Microsoft also shared that two additional game previews are now available for subscribers to take for a spin: Descenders Next (Cloud, Console, and PC via Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass), and He Is Coming (PC via Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass).

Game Pass catalogue additions typically come in two waves, so it’s likely that more titles will be added midway through August.
