The most heartwrenching case on Found so far has been Margaret’s (Kellie Williams) search for her son, Jamie (Parker Queenan), who was taken from her at a bus station when he was a small boy. Margaret has spent over a decade waiting for Jamie to come home, despite all the odds saying that it would never happen.

Jamie returned in the same episode that Gabi (Shanola Hampton) and Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) were arrested. The timing and ease with which Jamie returned set off red flags for everyone at M&A. That is, except for Margaret, who was too overwhelmed with joy to question the odd circumstances in which her son returned to her.

Since his return, Jamie hasn’t answered questions about where he’s been or who took him. He won’t allow Margaret to tell the rest of their family that he’s back. And in Thursday’s episode, he dug himself too far into a case, including stealing a broach from a suspect. Gabi was lenient because the missing broach was integral to her figuring out the case, but it doesn’t change the fact that Jamie is after something M&A can’t figure out, and there’s something very off about his reappearance.

“She’s concerned,” Hampton told Parade in a recent interview. “She loves Margaret so much. She has been on this path with Margaret. She watched the heartbreak. She watched the ups and downs that you [saw] in Episode 212. You get to see that she was there for the devastation and trying to figure out if that was Jamie’s shoe and all that stuff.”

Dhan (Karan Oberoi) has been leading the charge to get undeniable proof that Jamie actually is who he says he is before Margaret’s heart is irrevocably broken. Gabi is on the same level of suspicion, but she’s playing it a lot more diplomatically out of respect for Margaret’s feelings. Gabi’s discretion about her doubts is why Margaret came to her at the end of the episode with a game-changing revelation about Jamie’s kidnapping.

Margaret discovered Jamie’s favorite childhood toy train in the pocket of his coat before she found the broach. The discovery helped Margaret remember that the train was in Jamie’s room on the day he was kidnapped, but then later disappeared. If Jamie had the train now, that means the kidnapper was in the house after he was initially taken. That means the kidnapper is someone that Magaret knows, and was close to the family.

Gabi is fully on board with helping Margaret figure out who the culprit is, especially since Jamie isn’t talking. And maybe the answer to who took that train will lead to the other answers Gabi, Margaret, and the team desperately need about this case.

“Gabi’s been on this emotional rollercoaster,” Hampton teased. “Gabi is concerned, and she’s weary that this is really Jamie. The timing is so off of where and when he decided to come back. It doesn’t feel right for Gabi.”

As Gabi proved in this episode, her gut is always right. Will she figure out what’s really going on with Jamie and what happened to him before Margaret gets hurt though?

Found continues Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
