Frankie Muniz’s fans showered the actor with messages of love and support after he posted a somewhat cryptic message on social media over the weekend.

Many people who responded to the vague post on X, formerly Twitter, also expressed concern for the Malcolm in the Middle alum, who didn’t provide much context for the issue that appeared to be stuck on his mind, though it seemed to involve a problem with an unspecified friendship.

“Can’t sleep,” Muniz, 39, tweeted early in the morning on Saturday, Dec. 21. “Hard when you realize your friends aren’t really your friends.”

Even without much information, fans were quick to reassure the Agent Cody Banks star that they find friendship conundrums all too relatable.

“I felt this. ❤️ A lot of us have. I hope things get better,” one X user replied.

“I feel this, brother. You’re not alone,” another X user wrote.

Several social media users wrote in to share personal stories of fractured relationships among friends and the moments they discovered that what they thought were sincere bonds of friendship were actually “never real.”

“Better to realize than to continue to be used. It does suck though,” one X user tweeted.

Others urged Muniz to approach friendship troubles differently, with one writing, “I’d look at it the other way: It lets you know who your real friends are,” as another said it is “time to focus on Frankie for the next few years.”

Another suggested that whatever incident prompted Muniz’s post “actually might be your awakening,” adding that they “found my real friends when i lost everything.”

“You will grow from this!” one person predicted. “Hang in there!”

Though fans weren’t sure of the exact circumstances that prompted Muniz’s Saturday tweet, some expressed appreciation for the way he let people know that he is facing something tough.

“Thank you for not being perfect on social media and showing that everyone has these problems! I love this. 👍🏻,” one person tweeted.
