With Halloween just around the corner, we thought we’d go ahead and share some of the spookiest, most exciting events we’ve found around the city, from 19+ costume parties to a fireworks festival. So with that in mind, here are 10 of the best ways to celebrate Halloween in Vancouver this year.

Sunwave Halloween: Haunting at Heritage Hall 

Sunwave is returning to Heritage Hall this year for another spooktacular ‘haunting’ and party. And since Heritage Hall is one of the oldest buildings in the city, we’re sure there will be plenty of ghostly surprises in store.

Parade of Lost Souls

If you love getting creative with Halloween costumes every year, get ready to roll up your sleeves. East Vancouver’s annual Parade of Lost Souls returns this year, and it’s bringing a spooky blend of art, music, and dance with it.

This year, the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Society is organizing several free-to-access workshops prior to the main parade, including a costume party and happy hour, a time warp dance challenge, and a parade for children.

City of Richmond Fireworks Festival 

Whether you’re looking for adult pumpkin carving and painting or a family-friendly trick-or-treat activity, the City of Richmond has over 20 spooky events to look forward to this season. Its Fireworks Festival, which is set to take place on Halloween night from 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm, will feature a magician, jugglers, and the “ShowStoppers” ensemble, spooky roaming actors, a live pumpkin carver, carnival-style games, festive bites, and an inflatable corn maze. Oh, and a dazzling fireworks finale at 8:30 pm!

Morrissey Halloween Party 

The 25th annual Morrissey Halloween Party is a legendary event in Vancouver, and this year will be no exception. DJ K-Rec will be spinning until 3 am on Friday, October 26th, with giveaways and prizes available, according to the event page.

Halloween at The Fox! BOO-tylicious: All Throwback Hits

The Fox Cabaret’s 10th annual Halloween dance party is coming up, featuring some of Vancouver’s best DJs, drink specials, and costume contests. So don your spooky getups and get ready to dance all night long to the greatest hits from the 70s to the 00s!

Electric Asylum – Ummet Ozcan 

Enso Event Centre will transform into a ‘nightmarish’ world on Friday, October 25th leading up to Halloween. So get ready to dance to spine-tingling tunes and be surprised by spooky twists at every corner.

The Scarlett: Pop-up speakeasy

Tuesday to Saturday evenings from 5 pm starting October 18th, Fairmont Vancouver is hosting a spooky pop-up speakeasy inspired by the hotel’s legendary Lady in Red. Here, guests can enjoy signature cocktails, light bites, ‘ghostly glamour’, and captivating stories of the hotel’s colourful history.

Black Lagoon 

From now until October 31st, Butcher & Bullock in Vancouver has transformed into a spine-chilling, immersive experience via the annual Black Lagoon pop-up – a travelling immersive experience for cocktail enthusiasts and lovers of spooky season.
