Full House star Jodie Sweetin made a rare comment about her former castmate, Ashley Olsen.

While speaking to People magazine on June 5, Sweetin, who portrayed Stephanie Tanner on Full House, shared her thoughts about Ashley having a son named Otto, who is around 2, with her husband, Louis Eisner. As fans of Full House are aware, Ashley and her twin sister, Mary-Kate Olsen, played Stephanie’s younger sister, Michelle Tanner. The Olsens did not reprise their role in the 2016 Netflix reboot, Fuller House.

Sweetin suggested she felt a bit perplexed that her on-screen little sister, who began starring as Michelle when she was just 9 months, was old enough to be a mother.

“I think it’s how the adults [on the Full House set] felt for us. When we came around with our kids, they were just like, ‘This is so weird. You’re old enough to have a child, what?’ I ask myself that every day,” said Sweetin, who has two daughters, Zoie, 17, and Beatrix, 14.

Sweetin also shared that her daughters don’t love Full House.

“Even when they were little, they were like, ‘It’s weird.’ It was probably on, like, Nick at Nite or something. I’m sure my mom or dad, when the kids were little, [were] like, ‘Oh, you want to watch mom on the show?’ And even at 2, they were probably like, ‘No,'” said Sweetin to the publication.

Sweetin spoke about raising teenage daughters during a May 2023 episode of The TODAY Show. She said she couldn’t believe that Zoie, fathered by her ex-husband, Cody Herpin, and Beatrix, whom she shared with her ex-husband, Morty Coyle, were growing up so fast.

“I don’t feel old enough for this. Or responsible enough. But they are wonderful, wonderful girls,” said Sweetin, who is married to Mescal Wasilewski, during the interview.

Sweetin also said that she was “grateful” that Full House still has a dedicated fanbase after it premiered over 35 years ago.
