IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced its expansion into India by signing two Garner hotels. These new hotels, Garner Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Garner Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir, will be the first of the brand’s presence in India.

The new properties will be developed by Madan Infradevelopers Pvt Ltd and Rudraksh Nakshatra Hotel Pvt Ltd. They are expected to open in 2026 and 2027, respectively, and will be managed by Rosastays, a preferred third-party management company.

Garner, IHG’s latest midscale conversion brand, is designed to cater to guests who prioritize significant experiences over luxury. Each property will focus on delivering the essentials that matter most to guests.

Garner Etawah will feature 40 keys and a spacious ballroom, making it ideal for weddings and social events. It will also house an all-day dining restaurant and meeting spaces. Garner Kathua, with 45 keys, will offer a swimming pool, a multi-cuisine restaurant, and multipurpose event spaces, making it a preferred choice for business meetings and leisure stays.

The introduction of these hotels comes as Etawah is emerging as a major wedding destination and Kathua is establishing itself as an industrial and pharmaceutical hub.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed excitement about the launch of Garner in India. He highlighted the brand’s growth potential, particularly through franchising models, and the importance of strengthening the mainstream offering to meet the evolving needs of modern travelers.

Deepika Arora, Director, Rosastays, echoed Jain’s sentiments, stating that the collaboration with IHG and Garner will provide high-quality, affordable stays for guests.

Dr. Vivek Yadav, Director, Madan Infradevelopers Pvt Ltd, and Mr. Mohan Singh, Director, Rudraksh Nakshatra Hotel Pvt Ltd, also voiced their enthusiasm about the partnerships and the expected positive impacts on the local hospitality scene.

IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 47 hotels across five brands in India and has a pipeline of 60 hotels projected to open in the next 3-5 years.
