The cast of the ABC soap opera General Hospital took to social media to discuss what they would like to see for their respective characters in the coming year.
Check out the video posted to YouTube below.
The video opens with John J. York and Kristina Wagner, who play Mac and Felicia Scorpio. In the video Yorke says “I’ve always been excited with what’s next. People always say, “What was your favorite storyline?” Well, you know what? Maybe I haven’t had it yet, maybe it’s going to come up this season, maybe it’s going to come up next year.” To which Wagner responded, “You just don’t know what’s going to come next, and that’s what makes it fun.”
Amanda Setton, who plays Brook Lynn Quartermaine, teased, “Brook Lynn has a lot coming down the pike. We’ve seen some of it unfold so far, but in the next few months a lot is going to come to light that she’s going to have to process and face.”
On-screen, after keeping it a secret for decades, Brook Lynn is coming face to face with her past as the truth about her teenage pregnancy has come to light. When Brook Lynn was a teenager, one night at band camp one thing led to another, and Brook Lynn and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) had sex. It was from this that she became pregnant. Brook Lynn went to her mother Lois (Rena Sofer) and made the decision to give the child up for adoption, but Brook Lynn did not want to know any information on the child, not its name, its gender, or who its parents were. Lois agreed and took care of everything. Fast-forward to the present day, Brook Lynn is married and trying to conceive a child with her husband Chase (Josh Swickard). Due to complications, the happy couple find out that Chase is unable to have children, which brings all the thoughts of her previous pregnancy back to light. Brook Lynn tells Chase everything and begins looking for her child. Meanwhile, unknown to Brook Lynn, her son Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is living not only in town but sharing the same household. Over the next few months, the secret of Gio’s identity will shake Port Charles to its core.
Finola Hughes who plays Anna Devane posed, “You know I’d really like the PCPD to get some real legs and maybe solve like some fantastic crime. I just have this vision of having a note board connecting all the dots you know just trying to like having string that goes from here to here and I still haven’t done that I would love to do that.”
Cassandra James who plays Terry Randolph, Chief of Staff at General Hospital, said, “I take pride in playing a character who’s good at her job, who I’m looking forward to seeing how Terry can show up, and take up space, and continue to create positive change in the world.”
Steve Burton who plays Jason Morgan was brutally honest, stating “Listen let’s be real Jason’s been a deadbeat dad for a long time so he’s trying to turn over a new leaf and be there for his kids. Choosing the kids really over the business because family is so important.”
Donnell Turner and Brooke Kerr, who play Curtis and Portia Ashford, had some brighter dreams for their characters. Turner shared “I would like for us to have a baby. I’m just saying that would be fun.” To which Kerr responded, “I mean that would be nice if our family could expand. Trina is always the reason for all of the things that I do. So, it would be nice to have a little bit more reasons in life to make a more full story.”
Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, shared “I think Carly and Sonny (Maurice Benard) are really fun, and funny, when they’re forced to have to be around each other. Like live together, and then Sonny always wants to tell Carly what to do when it comes to her love life, so those are always fun.”
Genie Francis, who plays Laura Collins, shared “I’m particularly excited about the fact that they are bringing Sonny and Laura’s friendship back and actually I think creating a story there so I’m very excited about that because as I’ve told Mo (Maurice), I’d come to work for free to work with you”
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC at 2 p.m. EST, and streams daily on Hulu.
