King George will not be in Amarillo by morning. But he will be back in Texas by April.
The legendary country music entertainer just announced two new shows he’s adding to his touring schedule for this year, taking the grand total to five shows so far. One of the top five highest-grossing country tourers of 2025, Strait kept touring to a minimum last year, too, but still managed to rake in those dollars. He is “retired” after all, y’all.
Following announcements for springtime pit stops in Lubbock, Texas, and Clemson, South Carolina, Strait and his crew are informing fans of a couple more: Come April 9 and 11, Strait will grace the stage at the Moody Center arena in Austin, Texas.
George Strait’s Show Schedule for 2026 So Far:
- April 9 & 11, Moody Center, Austin Texas
- April 24 & 25, Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock Texas
- May 2, Memorial Stadium, Clemson, South Carolina
Helping hype the audience in Texas’s capital city on both nights will be Texas native William Beckmann, a newcomer who self-released three extended plays before getting signed by Warner Music Nashville and dropping his major label debut, Whiskey Lies & Alibis, on June 20, 2025.
Strait’s crew is touting the Austin shows as “intimate evenings with Strait performing his hits along with new songs from his album Cowboys and Dreamers.” But with the University of Texas arena capable of housing 15,000+ and Strait setting an all-time record with another recent campus concert — the one at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in 2024, where he drew 110,905 fans — these guys are simply redefining the word intimate. And we’re so here for it.
As for the “Carrying Your Love with Me” singer’s other shows, openers include Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores in Clemson at the university’s Memorial Stadium, also called Death Valley, as part of the Death Valley Nights series. That show will mark Strait’s return to the venue for the first time since 1999. Over at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, fans can look forward to Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook as the opening acts.
Tickets for the Austin shows go on sale this Friday, January 30, with the artist presale beginning at 10 a.m. Registration opens today. Note that venue presale began at noon. And for more information, go to moodycenteratx.com.
