8BitDo, the manufacturer responsible for a wide variety of excellent third-party accessories for the Nintendo Switch and other devices, has recently branched out into the world of mechanical keyboards. Right now, you can get one of these excellent keyboards for their lowest price ever at Woot. The 8BitDo mechanical keyboard with a Famicom-inspired theme is currently on sale for $59.99 (was $99.99).

All 8BitDo keyboards draw inspiration from old-school consoles and PCs like the Commodore 64, NES, and in this case, the Famicom, the original name for the NES when it launched in Japan in 1983.

While this keyboard isn’t equipped with RGB lighting, its otherwise extensive list of features stacks up well against competing models from manufacturers like Keychron, but at a fraction of the cost. The 8BitDo mechanical keyboard is equipped with an aluminum top plate, Bluetooth and 2.4 Ghz wireless connectivity, a dedicated volume knob, and hot-swappable switches, in addition to a unique PBT keycap set anointed in the colors of its namesake console.

8Bitdo’s mechanical keyboards also come packaged with an additional peripheral in the form of two comically oversized buttons that plug into the back of the keyboard via a 3.5mm connection. These two massive buttons and the rest of the keyboard can be reprogrammed with different inputs and assigned to different profiles via the 8BitDo Ultimate software on Android, iOS, Mac, or PC.
