Puff-Sleeve Smocked Mini Swing Dress, $23.99 at Old Navy

Featuring a flattering square neckline and short, puffy sleeves, these dresses are pretty much cottagecore perfection—perfect for fall, but still cute for the last of summertime. The shirred tiered skirt adds a bit of dimension and movement to the piece. For fit, this is definitely on the looser side and hits at the thigh. (FYI, some shoppers did recommend sizing down for a better fit.)

This lightweight dress is perfect for layering, which makes it ideal for this time of year. You can pair it with a jean jacket or sweater and take off the outer layers as the weather warms up in the afternoon.

The majority of reviews for these dresses are five stars, though some reviewers found them a bit loose. That said, other Old Navy shoppers didn’t find this to be a problem and simply sized down.
