LeBron James’ kids are almost as accomplished as their iconic dad.

Bronny James is already playing in the NBA alongside his father, Bryce James is playing for his high school team (and is a towering 6’6″!) and Zhuri James is carving out her own athletic niche in volleyball.

LeBron said he doesn’t pressure his kids to get into athletics and tries to let them do their own thing for the most part—but helps where and when appropriate. He explained it to Sports Illustrated using a climbing rope metaphor.

“We all know we can climb it on our own, but it’s much easier when you do it together,” he said. “I’m young enough to know a lot of things that they’re going through, but I’m also smart enough to stay out of some of the stuff. It’s not my job to be in their business all the time.”

That said, he’s each of their biggest cheerleaders. Get to know LeBron James’ children.

LeBron’s only passion greater than basketball (OK, and business—the dude is a legit billionaire) is fatherhood.

“What I’ve learned is to get the best out of my three kids, I can’t approach them all the same way because they all have different personalities,” James said in an interview on the Tim Ferriss Show in 2018. “They all are different, and I had to find out how to tap into each one of my kids to get the same results but teach them differently, and that’s the same with being the leader of a basketball team or a franchise.”

Who is Bronny James’ mother?

Bronny’s mother is Savannah James.

What is Bronny James’ real name?

Bronny’s full birth name is LeBron Raymone “Bronny” James Jr. In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, LeBron said that while Bronny is best known for his work on the court, he’s also an avid video gamer.

“Bronny plays video games all day,” LeBron told guest host Arsenio Hall. “I mean, he loves basketball, he plays basketball, loves being a big brother to his little brother and sister. But video games is his thing.”

In fact, Bronny became the youngest athlete ever to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated with e-Sports team FaZe Clan.

“I would always get nicknames. Bronny just stuck with me,” he told Sports Illustrated. “But I also want to build my own narrative and take my own path and not have the same LeBron LeBron path.”

Is LeBron’s son going to the NBA?

So far one of them is already there! Bronny was drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers to play alongside his legendary dad, making them the first active father-son pairing on the same NBA team. He made his debut on July 6, 2024, just three days after signing his deal.

“I’ve always let them just see if they had a love for [basketball],” LeBron told Sports Illustrated in 2022. “Because, at the end of the day, nothing is going to come to fruition if you’re just doing it because you feel like it’s what your parents are doing. It’s going to fizzle out too fast.”

Despite his career trajectory being similar to his pops, Bronny and Bryce each want to carve out a niche of his own.

“[My kids] hear the narrative out there on them,” LeBron said. “Even though they don’t talk about it, they hear the narrative; they see where they are. And the best thing about it? They have a prove-you-wrong mentality, like their father.”
