Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is hiring for several administrative jobs, but the application deadline is approaching.
The government department is in charge of managing diplomatic relations while promoting international trade and providing consular assistance.
“We lead international development, humanitarian, and peace and security assistance efforts. We also contribute to national security and the development of international law,” reads the GAC website.

Global Affairs has six regional offices across Canada and over 11,000 employees. The department is seeking to fill various administrative positions in multiple cities. According to the job post, the organization seeks qualified candidates for future temporary and indeterminate vacancies.
GAC states, “the duration and linguistic profiles could vary depending on the positions to be filled.”
Locations
Global Affairs Canada is looking to fill jobs in Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Gatineau and Montréal Island. The department follows a hybrid work model that requires employees to work on-site at least three days a week or 60 per cent of their regular schedule.
Salary
The salary for various administrative positions can vary from $62,533 to $74,180.

You must have a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. Alternatively, you must complete the General Competency Test: Level 1 from the Public Service Commission.
Experience
The required experience can vary depending on the position. However, applicants must have experience with office administration software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook.
Some roles require at least one year of experience providing administrative, operational, or client service support services.
Duties
Administrative support service may require you to manage the manager’s daily agenda and plan or coordinate meetings.
Additionally, you might be required to review documents for accuracy, coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence, write minutes of meetings, prepare spreadsheets and collate data, and manage the filing system.
Operational support services may require preparing forms, data entry, filing, reviewing reports, and drafting correspondence. Client services may include a variety of tasks, including processing customer requests, scheduling services, requesting payments, processing refunds, providing information, and inquiring about client satisfaction.
