According to the March 2025 pipeline data by online real estate marketplaces provider CoStar, global hotel pipeline activity has seen an overall increase, except in Europe. At the end of the first quarter, Europe observed a 1.2% decrease in total contracts under consideration despite a marginal increase in rooms under construction.

Germany holds the lead in Europe with 26,117 rooms under construction, closely followed by the UK. However, Asia-Pacific showed a promising 7.3% increase in total contracts, with China, Vietnam, and India leading the construction activity.

In the Middle East and Africa, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have the highest number of rooms under construction, despite a 7.0% decrease in the region’s total.

The Americas saw a 5.0% increase in total contracts, with the US holding the majority of rooms in construction, followed by Mexico, Canada, and Brazil. The data highlights the varying regional trends in hotel development, underlining key growth areas and potential challenges in the global hotel industry.
