The 2025 SAG Awards had host Kristen Bell revisiting several of her most iconic roles. The actress did a Challengers parody alongside her co-stars on The Good Place Ted Danson and William Jackson Harper. And she reunited with Forgetting Sarah Marshall star, and current lead of Shrinking, Jason Segel.

But her connection with Leighton Meester runs deep. The former Gossip Girl stars did a segment during the ceremony, sending out “anonymous” secrets about what some of the celebs at the star-studded event were wearing. But their connection predated that moment, as the two wore dark green dresses on the red carpet that had a great resemblance.
Meester is most well-known for her role as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, the best friend of main character Serena (Blake Lively). Bell appeared uncredited in every episode of the six-season teen drama on The CW. She provided the voice of the titular “Gossip Girl,” an anonymous blogger who posted about the social lives and issues of Blair and other students on Manhattan’s East Side.

And this brief reunion is a mere transition point for what comes next for the two. This week, it was announced that Meester would guest-star on Nobody Wants This. In the hit Netflix comedy series, Bell appears as one half of the lead couple, dating rabbi Noah. Noah is played by Adam Brody, the real-life husband of Meester.
“To be honest, and annoying to say, but it’s always delicious,” Bell said on the red carpet when asked about Meester’s role in the upcoming season. “This cast is really close, we have a very active text chain, sometimes too active, a lot of people making jokes, and I mean folding Leighton into it just seems natural and wonderful.”
Perhaps it was that very text chain that had the two decide to don matching dresses on the red carpet prior to their Gossip Girl reunion!
