Rockstar Games pushes GTA 6 back for a second time
Rockstar Games has delayed Grand Theft Auto 6 for the second time. Previously scheduled for a May 2026 release, the studio’s open-world crime epic is now scheduled to arrive on Nov. 19, 2026, Rockstar Games has announced.
Rockstar announced the delay on Thursday, saying that an additional six months of development time “will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” Here’s the studio’s statement:
Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.
We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.
We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.
Grand Theft Auto 6 was originally slated for release sometime in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but was pushed out to 2026 back in May.
