The Gunter Hotel in San Antonio has transitioned to Gunter Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel and has joined Marriott Bonvoy’s collection of independent hotels. Established in 1909, the property recently completed a $57 million renovation and has reopened with updated facilities. Located in downtown San Antonio, the hotel features 311 guest rooms, including 30 suites.
The hotel offers four dining venues: Jots, Keystone Club, Bar 414, and Paris Baguette. Reflecting its musical heritage, including the 1936 recording session of blues musician Robert Johnson, the property includes a recording studio, a curated vinyl library, and in-room record players for guests.
To mark its debut as a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, the Gunter Hotel has launched a limited-time package called “Restored. Reimagined. Remarkable.” The package is available to book through December 31, 2026, with blackout dates applying. It includes up to 26% off the Best Available Rate, a champagne toast for two upon arrival, access to the hotel’s Vinyl Library, complimentary admission to weekly live music performances, and late checkout, subject to availability.
The Gunter Hotel remains a member of Historic Hotels of America. Guests can participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program, earning and redeeming points during their stay and at other hotels and resorts within the Marriott Bonvoy collection.
