H World Group Limited has announced the signing of agreements to open three new JI Hotels in Southeast Asia. The new locations will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This development marks the company’s first entry into the Malaysian market, further expanding its footprint in the region.
The JI Hotel Downtown Kuala Lumpur is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. Located in the Dang Wangi district, the hotel will feature 101 rooms and is being developed in partnership with Saadiq Tri Venture. The property will incorporate the latest JI Hotel 5.0 design, which combines oriental aesthetics with modern amenities.
In Phnom Penh, two JI Hotels are planned. The JI Hotel Phnom Penh City Center will be situated in the central business and government district of Phnom Penh. This 130-room hotel, a conversion of an existing building, is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026. The second property, JI Hotel Phnom Penh Mekong Riverside, will be a new-build with 110 rooms, offering views of the Mekong River. It is expected to open in the third quarter of 2026 and will provide direct access to local cultural landmarks.
These developments are part of H World Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia. The company has been expanding its operations in the region, with recent activities including the signing of Steigenberger Phnom Penh in July 2025 and its entry into the Laotian market in May 2025, following multiple hotel signings.
The new hotel signings follow the company’s previous expansion efforts in Asia Pacific, including the opening of its first hotel in Cambodia, MAXX Phnom Penh Downtown, in December 2024. The announcement also coincides with the sixth anniversary of the JI Hotel Orchard Road Singapore, the brand’s first overseas property.
