In the captures, taken by KTLA5 News and the Los Angeles Times, the devastating scenery depicted structures engulfed in flames as first responders and firefighters attempted to manage the situation. There was also a snap of gray, smoky skies, as cars drove on a road beneath them in the eerie-looking environment.
“This is from my hood. Look at the sky. That is smoke, not clouds, from a fire that has consumed over 2,900 acres and remains uncontained. It’s left so many homes and buildings without power and killed at least two people, with more left with significant injuries,” Berry captioned the social media upload.
In closing, she called for prayers, while cautioning, “Please stay safe and informed through NotifyLA! 🤍 #PrayForLA.”
Supporters poured into the comment section with love amid the situation.
“I’m praying for you all,” one said, while another expressed concern, writing, “This breaks my heart for so many families and communities. My Lord. I’m so glad you are OK. I was thinking of you today.”
“How does sumthin like this even happen?” a third wondered, before adding, “Crazy ! prayers up 🙏💯.”
Several more simply sent notes of sympathy and well wishes amid the traumatizing circumstances.
At the time of writing, the Palisades, Sunset, Eaton, Hurst, and Lidia Fires swallowed up over 28,000 acres of land, according to live updates via CNN Weather.
