We are sad to hear that Camilla Rowe, 46, the wife of Hallmark actor Brennan Elliott, succumbed to her fight against gastric cancer in the early morning hours on Saturday, Mar. 22, 2025 at the age of 45.
Elliott’s wife, who was diagnosed back in 2018, fought the hard fight for so many years, undergoing multiple surgeries and various chemo and other therapy treatments in hopes of warding off the disease. Not long after she was diagnosed, Rowe had to have her entire stomach removed.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Elliott shared the hard news with his fans. “There is no easy way to say this but I know my wife @camilla_row would have wanted me to thank every person from all over the world who prayed for her over the last 8 years she suffered immeasurably trying to survive and live with #stage4gastriccancer,” he starts.

“It is with a soul crushing devastated heart that my beloved wife #cami passed away at 5:28 this morning. Our babies and I lost our rock, a person who not only was the love of my life,my soulmate,my best friend and lover but the toughest strongest fearless person I have ever met in my life and the greatest mother to her babies,” he continues.
He added, “The pain she endured only I might know but assure all who loved her she is in peace with no more pain. You are with the lord now my queen!🙏🙏. You are free! Heaven is a far better place with you in it my love. THANKYOU for being the best wife, mother and friend I’ve ever known.”
Back in 2018, the clinical psychologist thought she was having bouts of heartburn that wouldn’t go away. It got so severe she thought she might be having a heart attack. After visiting three doctors, the unbelievable diagnosis came back. Rowe had Stage 1B gastric adenocarcinoma. Within months, she had to have her stomach removed and began chemotherapy.

Fast forward to 2021. Rowe’s cancer came back, and this time it was Stage 4. With two small kids, a loving husband, and everything to live for, Rowe was determined to beat it, or at least keep it at bay. She seemed to do so several times, losing her hair multiple times when she had to go through another round of chemo. She even had several rounds of HIPEC surgery, where surgeons go in, remove any visible tumors and pour warm chemotherapy directly into the abdomen area where the cancer is present.
She began chronicling her journey as a cancer patient on Instagram. Many saw their jaws drop at the sheer amount of strength this woman had, mentally and physically, to withstand the number of chemo treatments, HIPEC surgeries, daily struggles to keep food down or keep her energy up. She became the unofficial ambassador for gastric cancer and cancer research, speaking of her experiences at many functions.

Fellow Hallmark actors responded in kind to Elliott’s post. Will Kemp posted, “Mate, sending you and the family all the love & strength there is in the world. My arms are flying across seas to hug you tight my friend. ♥️:”
Ashley Williams posted, “Oh my sweet friend I love you so much. This is the nightmare. Please know I am right here for you and the kids and holding you so tight in my heart right now.”
Personally, this author has had the opportunity to meet Rowe during a Hallmark Channel event. It was my early days writing for Parade, and I used to reply to Brennan’s tweets or tag him in some of my own. At the time, I had a cartoon version of me as my profile pic. I was talking to Brennan at the event when his wife came up to me and exclaimed, “You must be Connie Wang! I recognize you from your profile pic!” Surprised, I laughed and thought, “I could totally be friends with this woman!” I am certainly sorry to see she is gone, but happy to know she will no longer be in pain.
Rowe is survived by her husband, Brennan Elliott and their two children, Liam and Luna.
