Singer Molly Johnson and entrepreneur John Kim Bell were among the GG Performing Arts winners.
She was one of five black finalists from across Canada competing for the $25,000 grand prize funded by the nonprofit Black Entrepreneurs and Businesses of Canada Society.
According to the association, the contest aims to help black entrepreneurs who may be locked out of loans, grants, or other business funding due to organizational barriers.
