One of Haribo’s most popular candy varieties has just landed on shelves for the season, and some fans are wasting no time stocking up.

The internationally adored German confectionery company has been perfecting its craft since 1922, expanding its catalogue of treats to include everyday favorites–such as its iconic Goldbears, candy fruit flavors (Watermelon, Peaches, Cherries, and the criminally underrated Berries) and Happy Cola Gummies–along with limited-edition collaborations and several seasonal exclusives. Of the latter, the return of one spinoff is delighting fans: Haribo Sour Bats.

What Are Haribo Sour Bats?

The Sour Bats turn Haribo’s popular gummi candy into bat-shaped pieces. Unlike other sour candies, these do not have a sour-dusted coating. Instead, it’s the gummi itself that’s sour–just like Haribo Twin Snakes.

Haribo Sour Bats return for fall 2025.

The seasonal variety is available in a standalone “share size” (4-ounce) bag as well as in some of Haribo’s special Halloween variety packs and they’re a hit from coast to coast.

“Sour bats are my favorite! 😩,” one Instagram user wrote.

“Bring on the sour bats!!!! 🔥,” another cheered.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” a third joked. “My hyperfixation snack is back!!!!”

“No one loves Sour Bats like I love Sour Bats,” one more teased, showing off a stack of one dozen or so packages of the candy that they presumably just purchased while celebrating in their car.

What Flavors Are Included?

While it would be really cool if the Sour Bats featured an exclusive flavor of their own, that’s not the case. That said, this variety pack is filled with Haribo’s fan-favorite flavors: Sour Blackcurrant, Sour Cherry, and Sour Green Apple.

Does Haribo Offer Other Fall-Inspired Candy?

Yes! The beloved sweets brand has an entire limited-edition line just for fall. The seasonal varieties take the same Haribo recipes fans know and love and magically transform them into a slightly spookier shape, color, or assortment.

This fall, the candymaker is offering more than just a sour bat-shaped mix. Be on the lookout for its Fall Edition Goldbears, Harry Potter collab, and trio of party packs filled with a variety of individually-wrapped treats perfect for trick-or-treaters, classrooms, and festive gatherings.

Where Can I Find Haribo’s Sour Bats?

A spokesperson for the brand previously told Parade that its fall exclusives would be on shelves at retailers that typically stock the brand, including CVS, Dollar General, Five Below, Walgreens and Walmart (prices may vary).

The sweet-and-sour delight will only be around for spooky season, so while it might be easy to come by now, as we approach the end of October, it will likely become harder to find.
