Health Canada recalls: Air fryer from Cosori

Cosori recalls over 2 million air fryers sold in the US. Canada and Mexico because the wire connections can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday. The agency said consumers should stop using air fryers immediately.

The recall includes multiple model numbers in 3.7 quart and 5.8 quart sizes. All units have his Cosori brand name on the front.

The air fryer will be available from June 2018 through December 2022 at Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and online at Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers. Prices range from $70 to $130.

Consumers must contact Cosori at recall.cosori.com to receive a free replacement air fryer or another product. Consumers must provide contact information and a photo of the recalled unit. No receipt required.

The Cosori brand is owned by Vesync, based in Shenzhen, China. The company has received 205 reports of his air fryers igniting, burning, melting, overheating, or emitting smoke. There were 10 reports of minor burns and 23 reports of minor property damage, the agency said.
