Health Canada recalls kids’ car seats

Health Canada has issued a recall notice for Guangdong Jibaobao Children’s Products Co.’s child car seats, warning of the risk of injury.

The recalled car seat, model number kbh308, was black and sold online at Temu.com, according to a notice issued Monday.

Health officials said the recalled products were manufactured in China, did not display Transport Canada’s national safety mark, and were not certified to meet the safety requirements of the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Auxiliary Seat Safety Regulations. It is possible.

Health Canada warns against using these child restraints as they may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

From March 2023 to April 2023, nine recalled child seats were sold in Canada. However, as of June 16, no accidents or injuries related to the recalled products have been reported, according to the notice.

Health officials are urging consumers to stop using the recalled products “immediately” because they are illegal under state and territory highway regulations. If you have an affected product, Health Canada recommends that you safely dispose of it in a manner that prevents future use and contact the company for a refund.
