It’s almost that time of year again, as Victoria Day will bring a long weekend and stunning fireworks displays across Toronto.
This year, Victoria Day is on Monday, May 19.
It’s a statutory holiday in Ontario, so lots of people will be off work.
The City of Toronto has confirmed to Narcity that the Ashbridges Bay Park fireworks display will return on Monday, May 19.
The much-beloved event will be held at the park at 1561 Lake Shore Blvd. E. It will start at 10 p.m. and will last 14 minutes.
The park is on the city’s east side, near Woodbine Beach and the Beaches neighbourhood.
Elsewhere, Canada’s Wonderland is holding its fireworks display on Sunday, May 18.
The park says the fireworks will start at approximately 10 p.m., and certain attractions may close early on the night.

The park’s website reads: “Cap off your day at the park with an explosive, custom-designed fireworks display set to an original soundtrack that you won’t find anywhere else in Toronto! With multiple viewing points throughout the park, it’s a grand finale to a day full of FUN.”
Outside of the city, the Falls Fireworks Series will begin on Friday, May 16, at 10 p.m. Nightly fireworks displays will illuminate the Niagara Falls until Monday, October 13.
If you want to launch your own fireworks safely from home, the City of Toronto’s bylaws permit you to do so on your private property until 11 p.m. on Victoria Day. Keep in mind you’re not allowed to set off fireworks in a City beach, park or any other property that isn’t your own.
Whatever you choose to do this Victoria Day, have a safe and enjoyable long weekend!
