The Easter parade in the Beaches is one of the best events in Toronto this weekend

Easter is early this year, with the stat holiday Good Friday landing on March 29 and Easter Sunday on March 31. So, prepare ahead of time as stores and banks may not be open. But, while some closures and adjusted hours are expected, many attractions and services will remain accessible. Here’s what we know about what is going to be open or closed this weekend.

OPEN:

  • Parks and Trails: Enjoy outdoor spaces across the city. Find information on Toronto’s Parks, Gardens, and Beaches website.
  • Rouge National Urban Park: Open daily, though parking hours may vary.
  • Ontario Place: Explore Ontario Place and Trillium Park from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
  • Toronto Zoo: Visit the zoo for its spring marketplace event and Terra Lumina night walk. Open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with special events on April 7-9.
  • High Park Zoo: Open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., including the llama pen.

  • Yorkdale Mall: Closed Good Friday and Easter Monday

CLOSED:

  • Government Offices and Canada Post: Closed Friday and Monday.
  • Banks: Closed on Good Friday, but will be open on Easter Monday.
  • Toronto Public Library: Closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday.
  • Retail: The Beer Store, LCBO, and many retail locations closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
  • TTC: Operating on a holiday schedule on Good Friday.
  • GO Transit: Running on a Sunday schedule on Good Friday.
  • Parking Enforcement: Some parking regulations relaxed over the weekend, but other areas will still be enforced.
