The sun is shining, and in only a matter of months, Cowtown will be encouraged to head to the grounds and kick up some dust at the Calgary Stampede — maybe even for FREE.

Calgary Stampede 2025

On July 3, the gates will open for sneak-a-peek, and 10 wonderfully western days will commence, but when should you go?

It’s no secret that The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth can get pretty expensive. From the wacky food and drinks to cowboy hats, games, and ride tickets, things can add up, but if you plan ahead, you can skip paying for admission.

Want to save a few bucks for boots and beer? Here is when you can get through the gates without reaching for your wallet.

Hoping to check out the park after this year’s Stampede Parade? Those with energy left to burn can rush over to the grounds for a day of inexpensive fun. On July 4, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., admission will be free for everyone. Yahoo!

When: July 4, 2025

Food, fun, and family? On July 6, get into the Calgary Stampede for free until 11 a.m., then head to the GMC Stadium Courtyard for a complimentary pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m.

In addition to this, the Stampede will also host a variety show from 8 to 10 a.m. in the GMC Stadium.

When: July 6, 2025

Want to celebrate with your parents or grandparents? On July 9, admission will be free for visitors over 65, but that’s not all. Until 11 a.m., the Stampede will also be giving away coffee and donuts to senior citizens and military veterans in the BMO Plaza.

Everyone else? You will only have between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get in without paying, so get some rest the night before.

When: July 8, 2025

Have kiddos? On July 9, kids 12 years old or younger get in free. Teens and adults, however, will have until 10 a.m. to get complimentary access.

While you’re there, don’t forget to check out another free pancake breakfast in the GMC Stadium Courtyard, as well as the free variety show from 8 to 10 a.m.

When: July 9, 2025

From concerts to the Grandstand Show, it’s going to be an incredible year, so don’t miss out.

If, of course, you can’t make it downtown for any of the dates above but can check it out when it all kicks off with Sneak-a-Peek, admission will only be $13 from 5 p.m. until midnight, so mark it down!

There’s truly nothing else like it anywhere else in Canada.
