Hilaria Baldwin is getting her practice in ahead of the Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premiere. After the 41-year-old confirmed her pairing with pro dancer Gleb Savchenko, the duo was spotted rehearsing their choreography in the streets of New York City.
Just one day after the official cast announcement on Good Morning America, Baldwin and Savchenko were seen running through their routine in public as they prepare for the competition, which kicks off in less than two weeks.
In clips of their public rehearsal, Savchenko sported a casual look featuring a plaid button-down shirt, light blue jeans and checkered shoes. Baldwin wore a white shirt with a pink floral print, tiny denim shorts and flip-flops.
The two appeared to be in unison as they moved through parts of their routine. Baldwin shared a clip of their practice on Instagram, where she was met with praise from fans.
“Wow! You are such a natural! You and Gleb did that so beautifully!” one user wrote. Another added, “Only you @hilariabaldwin could dance so gracefully and beautifully in flip-flops!!! Love love love.”
However, not all the reactions were positive. On Reddit, some critics shared harsher opinions.
“The desperation is very sad. BTW – this was shot in Washington square park which is literally 2 blocks away from her apt,” one user claimed. Another said, “Watched the video again she actually is pretty sloppy.”
Despite the mixed reactions, both Baldwin and Savchenko are focused on the competition ahead and ignoring the drama.
Savchenko, who has been a DWTS pro for over a decade, made headlines last month after suggesting on social media that he had been dropped from the show. This followed allegations made by his ex-girlfriend and Season 33 partner, Brooks Nader.
In promos for her show Love Thy Nader, Nader accused him of cheating, which Savchenko has since described as “false accusations.”
Baldwin, who is married to actor Alec Baldwin, also faced controversy in recent years regarding her Spanish heritage. The mom of seven has previously been criticized for allegedly faking an accent. However, she has shared that being neurodivergent affects her speech.
“I have ADHD and dyslexia,” Baldwin revealed in her book Manual Not Included. She explained the diagnoses “greatly impact my speech, my reading, my listening, my focus, my memory and my self-confidence”
Still, both dance partners insist they’re keeping their focus on the dance floor.
“I love that Hilaria is bringing so much grace and class and so much all about the craft and all about the performance,” Savchenko told Us Weekly. “And this is what this whole show is about. I love that we ar ready to work hard.”
“We just need to stay very, very focused and just have the same vision,” he added. “What I love about our partnership is that we have the same goal to come out there and just leave it all in the dance floor.”
