Pop star Hilary Duff and Joe Carter have a connection. Carter hit his World Series-winning home run in 1993, the same year Duff launched her career when she was just five years old.
Hilary Duff brought some of that synchronicity to Toronto for her concert Wednesday night at the RBC Amphitheatre.
During the show, the singer wore a vintage Joe Carter Toronto Blue Jays jersey that belonged to her sound engineer and tour manager.
Duff said she was proud to wear the jersey and thanked her tour manager for letting her wear it during the show.
The timing was also perfect. While Duff was performing, the Blue Jays were playing the Boston Red Sox nearby. Toronto went on to win the game 6–4 after scoring five runs in the eighth inning.
Duff also went full Canadiana by taking a bite of a maple bacon hot dog. However, she was not a fan.
Duff is performing in Toronto again Thursday night as part of her “Lucky Me” tour. The Blue Jays will also play the Red Sox Thursday afternoon.
