Hilton Expands Northeast India Presence with New DoubleTree Hotel in Siliguri

Hilton has announced the signing of a strategic partnership with Soonerio Hotels Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Beekay Group, to develop the first DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Siliguri Sevoke Road. This expansion marks Hilton’s entry into Siliguri, West Bengal, a city often referred to as the ‘Gateway of Northeast India.’ The hotel is scheduled to open in 2028.

Siliguri is strategically located at the convergence of four international borders – India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh – and has emerged as a significant hub for business, tourism, and trade. Situated in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, Siliguri serves as a gateway to popular destinations such as Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Sikkim. The upcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Siliguri will be ideally located on Sevoke Road, offering easy access to Bagdogra Airport and the new Jalpaiguri Railway Station.

The partnership with Hilton is seen as an opportunity to tap into the growing tourism market and elevate the hospitality landscape in Siliguri. This city blends urban comforts, rich cultural heritage, and natural beauty. The hotel will feature a range of standard rooms and suites to accommodate the needs of both business and leisure travelers. Various dining options, over 17,000 square feet of versatile meeting and events space, and wellness-focused amenities such as a fitness center, a spa, and an outdoor pool will be available to guests.

With this signing, Hilton continues to strengthen its presence in South Asia, building on its portfolio of 64 operating and pipeline hotels.
