Hilton has announced plans to expand its footprint in Saudi Arabia by reaching a milestone of 100 open hotels this year. This move emphasizes the company’s sustained commitment to growth in the Kingdom, with 14 brands currently operating and under development. Hilton aims to add over 21,000 rooms across various locations in the country.
The company’s ongoing expansion in Saudi Arabia includes introducing more of its brands and creating a diverse portfolio that offers a range of options for travelers. One in four branded hotel rooms currently being built in Saudi Arabia carries a Hilton flag.
Highlighting the company’s growth strategy, Hilton is launching its premium economy brand, Spark, in the Middle East with the signing of Spark by Hilton in Makkah. The new brand offers a simple, inspired design, comfortable guest rooms, and a complimentary breakfast at an accessible price point. Spark by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah, a 329-guest room property, is scheduled to open later this year.
The introduction of Spark by Hilton adds to the company’s growing midscale presence in the Kingdom. It complements existing brands such as Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn, which account for one-third of Hilton’s hotel pipeline in Saudi Arabia.
Hilton’s expansion plan extends to the luxury sector with its iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and Conrad Hotels & Resorts brands. The company has a multi-property agreement at The Avenues – Riyadh, the Kingdom’s largest mixed-use development, which will host a Waldorf Astoria and a Conrad hotel.
Hilton’s pipeline in Saudi Arabia is set to create over 15,000 job opportunities across its properties, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 plan. The company currently operates 20 hotels in the Kingdom, with another 77 properties in its pipeline, accounting for a quarter of branded hotel rooms under construction in the country. This reaffirms Hilton’s commitment to supporting Saudi Vision 2030 by offering world-class hospitality experiences.
