Hilton reported a 6.7% net unit growth in 2025, adding nearly 800 hotels and 100,000 rooms, and closed the year with a record 520,000 rooms under development.

Hilton announced that in 2025 it achieved a net unit growth of 6.7%, adding nearly 800 hotels and approximately 100,000 new rooms to its global portfolio. The company ended the year with more than 3,700 hotels under development, totaling over 520,000 rooms.

In 2025, Hilton signed agreements for more than 1,000 new hotels, representing almost 140,000 rooms. The company stated that it began construction on nearly 100,000 rooms during the year, the highest number of room starts in a single year on an organic basis in Hilton’s history. According to the company, about one in every five hotel rooms under construction globally is expected to join the Hilton system.

Hilton launched two new brands in 2025. Apartment Collection by Hilton was announced as a new lodging category within Hilton’s collection brand portfolio, offering furnished apartments. These units will be available for booking through Hilton channels in the first half of 2026. The launch builds on Hilton’s existing global inventory of approximately 10,000 apartment-style units, with up to 3,000 new units added through a partnership with Placemakr. Hilton stated that it expects to expand its apartment-style inventory through this partnership and additional franchise agreements in the multi-family segment.

The company also introduced Outset Collection by Hilton in October, a conversion-focused brand designed for independent hotels. Outset Collection has more than 60 hotels under development, with stated long-term growth potential of over 500 hotels in the United States and Canada. Hilton reported that conversions accounted for nearly 40% of its openings in 2025, with properties converting from both independent and branded hotels.

In the luxury and lifestyle segment, Hilton reported several developments in 2025. These included the grand reopening of Waldorf Astoria New York, the opening of the first Waldorf Astoria hotels in Finland, Japan, and Costa Rica, and signings such as NoMad Hotels in Detroit and Singapore. The company’s lifestyle hotels expanded into new countries, including the first Canopy by Hilton in South Africa and the first Curio Collection by Hilton in Thailand. Hilton’s portfolio now includes over 1,000 luxury and lifestyle hotels globally, with more than 200 new properties added in 2025.

Hilton surpassed 9,000 operating hotels worldwide in 2025. The company reported brand debuts in Rwanda and Pakistan during the year, and stated it now operates in 143 countries and territories.

Hilton reported welcoming more than 233 million guests to its properties in the past year, the highest in its history, and stated it has served over 4 billion guests since its founding.
