Hoda Kotb is boldly defending one of her go-to fashion picks amid a viral debate over whether the clothing item is worn too frequently by some.
The Today with Hoda & Jenna co-host took her stand during the show on Friday, Nov. 22. The show later shared a clip from her conversation with Jenna Bush Hager about the item on Instagram.

The debate surfaced in response to a viral video posted on TikTok, the show noted in its Friday Instagram caption. In the video, the content creator “calls upon Millennial women to stop over-wearing jean jackets,” the caption explained.
Kotb, who often wears jean jackets, spoke out in favor of her go-to pick in the clip. “Here’s the thing about a jean jacket,” she began. “You’ve got on a sundress, and you’re going out, but you walk into places that are chilly. What are you gonna throw on?”
“A cardigan?” Bush Hager, 42, suggested.
“No,” Kotb, 60, insisted. “You’re gonna throw on your jean jacket.” The mother of two then explained her reasons for the jacket preference. “I like it,” she said. “It fits, it’s nice, it’s got an inside pocket—you can put your phone in there.”
As Kotb dissolved into a fit of laughter over the discussion, Bush Hager made an observation about her friend and co-host. “My favorite thing is when you make a plea for an object that’s not alive,” she said.
The former first daughter then shared “the good news” about Kotb’s predicament. “She’s just talking to Millennials,” Bush Hager said of the viral TikTok user. “She ain’t even talking to you.”
“She don’t know me!” Kotb exclaimed before looking directly into the camera and reiterating, “You don’t know me!”
Fans who left comments on the post overwhelmingly agreed with Kotb.
