IHG Hotels & Resorts and Pro-invest Group will convert Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown to voco Queenstown, with the property scheduled to reopen later in 2026 following refurbishment.

The 227-room property, operated by EVT Connect Hospitality, is located in central Queenstown near the lakefront and local dining, retail, and tourism areas.

The transition to the voco brand will include refurbishment of the property. Planned upgrades include enhancements to meeting spaces, a new Private Dining Room, a new outdoor dining area, and the introduction of a restaurant and bar, Mozzarella & Co. The hotel is expected to reopen as voco Queenstown later in 2026.

The conversion is intended to reposition the property within IHG’s premium portfolio. The refurbishment aims to update the hotel’s facilities and expand its appeal to both leisure and corporate guests.

Pro-invest Group is the property’s owner, developer, and manager. The conversion is described as a strategic move to align the hotel’s location, scale, and performance profile with a premium brand.

New Zealand’s hotel market is characterized by disciplined development activity, a focus on asset quality, and value creation from existing properties. Queenstown is identified as a destination with strong year-round visitation and demand for centrally located, high-quality accommodation.
