Dakota Fanning revealed a surprising dating confession about her attempt to navigate the modern dating scene.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, along with her sister Elle Fanning, the former child star confessed that she tried out a dating app to see what it was all about.
According to the Watcher star, she joined Raya, an exclusive members-only dating app often referred to as the “Tinder for celebrities,” mainly due to its subscription-based model.
The younger Fanning went on to emphasize that her sister “has never done this. Ever,” but the 31-year-old actress explained that she did it “for fun.”
“My girlfriend made it for me … I was like, if I don’t, then I’m going to think—” she added, to which Elle Fanning interrupted as she tried to finish the sentence for her, saying, “Maybe my husband is there.”
The Effie Gray star playfully commented, “I can confirm that he is not.”
When asked if she has seen someone familiar or famous on the app, she responded, “I haven’t seen a ton of familiar faces yet.”
Dakota Fanning, who admitted that she is currently single, dated model and multimedia artist Jamie Strachan in 2013.
At the time, the actress was 19, while the British model was 32.
After three years of their romance, the couple called it quits. When asked about the breakup, she politely declined to reveal the reason behind it.
“I was raised by very traditional Southern parents with Southern manners,” she told Town and Country, adding, “You don’t air your dirty laundry to people that aren’t your family or your friends. Why would I ever want to portray myself as anything other than together?”
Besides Strachan, she was linked to Logan Markley, a commercial real estate broker and her high school sweetheart, as cited by Daily Mail.
“Dakota and Logan have always been close and they dated for about a year in high school,” a source told the outlet. “Logan recently split with his girlfriend, so when Dakota split with Jamie, they hooked up again. It’s early days, but they couldn’t be happier.”
Unfortunately, things didn’t work out between them and in 2017, the Golden Globe nominee was spotted with Henry Frye, whom she reportedly met during a vacation in Cape Cod, as mentioned byPage Six.
Even though they never publicly addressed their breakup, the couple’s last appearance together was at the Prada Resort show in New York City in 2018.
