Homicide investigators called to West Vancouver condo complex – BC

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was deployed to West Vancouver Tuesday afternoon after city police locked down the area for hours.

Global News learned of a stabbing incident in an underground car park around 5pm. Liam, her Goddard resident living in the building, says her mother called her 9-1-1 after speaking to a distressed woman who came up the stairs.

Details of the murder investigation have yet to be released, but police appear to be focusing on the area around 21st Street, between Argyll Avenue and several condominiums.

Police taped off the entrance to the underground car park and residents were reportedly told to stay away.

BC Emergency Medical Services confirmed to Global News that no one was taken to hospital but was called to the scene shortly after 2pm.

Tess Keele, who also lives across the street from the scene, said she was told to stay home for extended hours on Tuesday.

“They have just restricted the police tape area, covering only the entrance and exit to the basement at 2135 Argyle Avenue, Koehle told Global News.

“At 2120 Argyle, we’ve been in lockdown since about 5pm, but now we’re free to move around.”
