Defeat the Moon Lord in Palworld, and you’ve overcome the toughest opponent from the Tides of Terraria update. As we’re talking about a level 50 Raid Boss, it’s best to wait until level 60 or so before taking on this multi-eyed Terraria-inspired monster, but once you’ve gained enough experience, it’s well worth the effort.
Craft the required summoning item, bring a bunch of battle-hardened Pals, and find the boss’s weak points; here’s how to summon and fight the Moon Lord in Palword.
Where to find the Moon Lord in Palworld
Like all Raid Bosses in Palworld, the Moon Lord doesn’t have a set location, but must instead be summoned at a Summoning Altar. You can unlock the research schematic for the Summoning Altar at Technology Level 32, using three Ancient Technology Points. It costs 100 Stone and 20 Paldium Fragments to build it.
It’s best to place the Summoning Altar in an empty base in a low-level location. That way, the Moon Lord won’t destroy any valuables, and you won’t be bothered by other dangerous Pals.
To summon the Moon Lord, you must place a Celestial Sigil on your Summoning Altar. You can take a look at our guide on how to get Celestial Sigils for more details, but in short, you should head inside the Sealed Realm of Terraria (see map location below), collect Hallowed Bars, and defeat the Eye of Chtulhu boss to obtain Celestial Sigil Schematics. Use a crafting bench to turn 100 Hallowed Bars into a Celestial Sigil, then offer this Sigil at the Summoning Altar to spawn the boss.

How to beat the Moon Lord in Palworld
Since the Moon Lord is a Raid Boss, he cannot be captured (sorry!). The Moon Lord has three weak points in the form of large eyes: one is placed on his forehead, and the other two are on the palms of his hands (see picture below). Beware that you can’t damage the eyes when they’re closed. As they’re constantly blinking, be ready to fire as soon as they open. Once the eyes are destroyed, the Moon Lord’s heart will be exposed through the opening in his chest. Hit the heart, and the Moon Lord shall be defeated.

Since the Moon Lord doesn’t have any elemental weaknesses, it’s best to bring your most powerful combat Pals to the fight, regardless of their elemental type. Forward laser beam attacks, such as Dark Laser or Pal Blast, are particularly effective since they can hit the Moon Lord’s weak spots more easily. To help you hit the Moon Lord in his weak spots, you can use a flying mount like the Jetdragon, but don’t forget that aimed attacks are preferable over wider area-of-effect attacks.
As for weapons, bring your best ranged ones. The Plasma Cannon and Charge Rifle are excellent options, though beware of the charging time on that last one — it’ll require proper timing.
Beware of the floating eyeballs summoned by the Moon Lord throughout this fight; after hovering in the air for a while, they’ll shoot straight towards you. Likewise, the Moon Lord shoots a laser beam from his forehead that follows you around the battlefield, so keep moving!

Upon defeat, the Moon Lord drops a randomized selection of fruit, lotuses, pendants, and Training Crystals. You also have a chance to obtain the Legendary Meowmere weapon and Moon Lord Mask. If you don’t get them from your first attempt, you can craft more Celestial Sigils to summon and fight the Moon Lord again.
