If you want to expand your arsenal and be prepared for every fight in Borderlands 4, you will need as many SDU tokens as you can get your hands on.

Storage Deck Upgrade tokens are the special points you use to unlock more slots in your backpack, bank, lost loot system, as well as to increase the amount of ammo you can carry of each type. Since more guns and more bullets is always better in Borderlands 4, obtaining as many SDU tokens as you can is the secret of a happy life in Kairos.

In this guide, we explain how to get more SDU tokens in Borderlands 4.

How to get more SDU tokens in Borderlands 4

You can only obtain SDU tokens in Borderlands 4 by going after collectibles and challenges. While some of them simply involve finding a shrine or interacting with a vault symbol you may find on the map, others put you in mid-size dungeons with a final boss to be defeated.

Keep in mind that the difficulty level does not affect the quantity of tokens you receive from completing these activities.

Below, you can find a list of all the collectibles that give you SDU tokens in Borderlands 4.

  • Safehouses and Silos
  • Evocarium puzzle
  • Vault symbol
  • Lost capsule
  • Auger shrine
  • Propaganda speaker
  • Electi safe
  • Order bunker
  • Abandoned Auger mine
  • Ripper drill site
  • Ancient Crawler

You can find multiple Safehouses and Silos on the map, and you should look for them since they work as fast travel locations. Every Safehouse or Silo that you unlock rewards you with 40 SDU tokens. Since unlocking them is a pretty straightforward process, going after these points of interest is a safe bet when it comes to getting more SDU tokens.

Evocarium puzzles

To complete an Evocarium puzzle, you need to first interact with the main structure, so it points out three locations. Search around the places indicated by it for you to find three glowing orbs. Once you get them, you receive 15 SDU tokens.

As you explore Kairos, you may find glowing Vault symbols on the walls. Just interact with them and you will receive five SDU tokens.

Lost capsules

This activity involves finding a lost capsule and taking it back to a specific location, usually in a nearby base or Safehouse. You earn 15 SDU tokens and a bunch of guns that drop from the machine once you deposit the capsule.

Auger shrines

Auger shrines are points of interest where, if you find them and interact with them, a shrine comes out of a machine. To receive your rewards, you need to hit it with a melee attack once the purple shrine is exposed. Doing so gives you 10 SDU tokens and some guns as well.

Propaganda speakers

Indicated by the icon of a speaker on the map, propaganda activities are a tower-defense type of mission, where you hack the structure while waves of enemies come at you. Survive until the gauge hits 100 and you will receive 20 SDU tokens.

Electi safe

These are small abandoned safes that you find in some locations pointed out on the map that can give you 10 SDU tokens. All you need to do is find the safe and, well, kick it.

Order bunkers

Order bunkers are basically small dungeons. Progressing requires clearing rooms filled with enemies, but it may also require you to unlock doors, which may involve smaller challenges, like finding batteries and placing them at the right spot. At the end of the bunker, there’s a boss to fight. You get 40 SDU tokens for completing a bunker.

Abandoned Auger mines

These abandoned mines are similar to the bunkers and they also give you 40 SDU tokens. Unlike bunkers, you will find other types of enemies in Auger mines, like manglers. There are also some environmental threats, like small lakes of poison that you need to avoid.

Ripper drill sites

If you want a simple challenge, go after the Ripper drill sites. These are Ripper camps where the goal is to kill the regular enemies until the mini-boss appears. Defeat them as well to get some nice loot and 40 SDU tokens.

Ancient crawlers

You find these massive abandoned vehicles all around Kairos, and, if you get to the top of it, you can power up their systems to obtain their vehicle kit. The only problem is that you will need to face several enemies before you can reach the top of an ancient crawler. But if you prevail and get the vehicle kit, you will get 40 SDU tokens.
