Toxel made its global debut in Pokémon Go as part of November 2024’s “Into the Wild” event.

The Gen 8 electric- and poison-type baby has one evolution, Toxtricity, but with two different forms — Amped Form and Low Key Form.

On its debut, you couldn’t catch Toxel nor Toxtricity in the wild, making it a harder Pokémon to seek out — though both become easier with the arrival of Go Wild Area Global.

Here’s how to get Toxel in Pokémon Go during the “Into the Wild” event and how to evolve it into its different forms.

How to get Toxel in Pokémon Go

Toxel released globally as part of the “Into the Wild” event. You can get one from hatching 10 km eggs obtained during the “Into the Wild” event and Go Wild Area Global event (Nov. 18-24)

Despite there being paid research as part of the “Into the Wild” event, there’s no guaranteed Toxel encounter. Something that can help is during the Go Wild Area Global event, ticket holders see walking distance halved — giving you more chances to hatch eggs over the weekend.

How to get Toxtricity in Pokémon Go

There are a few ways to get Toxtricity in Pokémon Go during the “Into the Wild” and Go Wild Area Global week of events:

  • Evolving Toxel into Toxtricity, which requires a whopping 400 Toxel Candy.
  • Completing Dynamax or Gigantamax Toxtricity Max Battles and catching them in the subsequent encounter.
  • Completing Toxtricity raids and catching them in the subsequent encounter, with the chance of them having a Special Background.

Complicating matters, however, is there are two forms to collect…

How to get Toxtricity Amped Form or Low Key Form in Pokémon Go

In mainline Pokémon games, Toxel evolves into one of two Toxtricity forms based on its nature, but since Pokémon Go doesn’t have natures, which form of Toxtricity you’ll get is random.

To evolve Toxel into the Amped Form or Low Key Form of Toxtricity, you’ll just need to hope you get lucky and you roll the one you want.

Alternatively, both forms are appearing in raids and Max Battles throughout Go Wild Area Global, so keep an eye on the version you don’t have over the event weekend.

In Max Battles, luckily, both forms Gigantamax just the same, so you don’t have to worry too much getting both versions there.

The forms also appear to be purely cosmetic when it comes to Pokémon Go, as the two have the same movesets and base stats.

Can Toxel be shiny in Pokémon Go?

Yep, at its initial launch, Toxel debuted fully with the ability to be shiny. As always, you’ll need to get super lucky to find one though!
