Most Easter dinners are steeped in family tradition, which usually means you have a pretty good idea what’s going to be served. My parents always dish up ham, deviled eggs, mac and cheese, fluffy dinner rolls, salad and a carrot cake for dessert. It’s been the same thing since I was a kid, with practically zero revisions made throughout the years.
While that level of predictability is comforting, sometimes you want to mix things up a little. Lucky for me, Jell-O is here with a super cute (and very easy!) Easter dessert and I’m 100% incorporating the idea into my holiday celebration this year.

What Makes These Carrot Patch Jell-O Pudding Cups So Great?
How much time do you have? The five-ingredient dessert uses inspiration from fan-favorite “dirt cups,” but Easter-ifies them. The base of the dessert doesn’t require any prep, unless you count peeling the lid off the pudding cups. A juicy strawberry is dipped in orange-tinted white chocolate stands in for a carrot in the chocolate pudding patch. As with typical dirt cups, crumbled Oreo cookies serve as the dirt surrounding the berry cute “carrots.”
Fans online are here for the cute factor this quick and easy dessert serves up. “I just remembered how much I like chocolate pudding!” one person wrote in the comments. “This is so nostalgic. Perfect Easter treat!” Another commenter added to the enthusiasm. “This is so creative 😍 Perfect way to sneak some fruits in for the kiddos too!” they said.

How to Make Carrot Patch Jell-O Pudding Cups for Easter
The first step in making this dessert is easy: Peel the lid off your chocolate Jell-O pudding cup. From there, crush chocolate cookies like Oreos on top to create “dirt.” If you have kids at home, you can toss a few cookies in a ziptop bag and encourage them to bang it with wooden spoons to break them up. (It’s a good way to distract them so you can focus on the next step.)
Make the carrots next. Melt white chocolate in a bowl and add a few drops of orange food dye. (You can also use orange candy melts.) Take a whole strawberry (with the green top intact) and dip it into the white chocolate mixture. Let it set before nestling your “carrot” into the top of your dessert cup.
These cute treats look great on an Easter buffet or arranged down the center of the table as an edible centerpiece. No matter how you serve them, we’re sure your guests will be excited to dig in.
