You can nab Splatoon items and villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the 3.0 update. If you want some sweet squid kid fashions or some unique sea idol villagers, you’ll need to use specific amiibo to bring them in.

You can also get Zelda items and villagers using Zelda-themed amiibo.

Below, we explain how to invite Cece (Shiver) and Viché (Frye) to your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island, as well as how to unlock Splatoon items in your catalog.

If you want these two idols in your game, you’ll need to scan specific amiibo at the ATM-like Nook Stop machine in the Resident Services building, after building a campsite on your island. This will bring them to your island as campers. After they’ve appeared on your island a few times and you’ve fulfilled any requests they have, they will eventually accept your invitation to stay as a resident, so long as you have an open spot on your island. (Remember, you can only have up to 10 villagers total.) The list of amiibo for the Splatoon villagers isn’t exactly balanced, as the absurd amount of color variations for Inkling amiibo means that Viché has more options than Cece does.

Cece is a female peppy villager and Viché is a female normal villager. Notably, Cece and Viché are both characters from Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo, though in the past, they looked more like Callie and Marie. They have been updated to look like Shiver and Frye from Splatoon 3 for this iteration of Animal Crossing.

You’ll need the following amiibo to unlock these specific villagers. Note that using the Big Man amiibo gives you a choice of which of the two you want to invite, so it works for both.

Cece (Shiver)

Viché (Frye)

Callie (Splatoon)

Inkling (Super Smash Bros.)

How to unlock Splatoon items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get Splatoon items, you’ll just need to scan any of the above Splatoon amiibo at the Nook Stop. Once you do this, you’ll be able to order any of these items from the Nook Shopping app on your phone, under the “Promotion” tab.

If you don’t have any amiibo, you can ask a friend with these items unlocked to mail them to you. The friend in question will just have to pick “Send as Gift” rather than “Place Order” when grabbing the items from the shop. So long as both of you have Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions, you should be able to get these goods in the mail. You can also have a friend physically bring you the items, dropping them on your island, if you’d rather do that, too.

Here’s a list of the items you can buy from Nook Shopping:
