Friendly Hotels Group acquires two ski hotels in France

French owner-operator The Friendly Hotels Group, together with French real estate management company 123 Investment Managers, French national investment bank Bpifrance (through its France Investissement Tourisme 3 fund) and French private equity firm Smalt Capital, has acquired the four-star, 60-room Le Grand Aigle Hôtel & Spa in La Salle-les-Alpes, France and the three-star, 96-room Hôtel Totem – Friendly Hotel & Spa in Arâches-la-Frasse, France. The Aigle Hôtel, located in the Serre Chevalier ski resort some two hours east of Grenoble, will be refurbished and rebranded under the Friendly Hotels brand. Hôtel Totem, situated in the Grand Massif ski area north of Mont Blanc and already operating under the group’s brand, will undergo a significant upgrade to achieve four-star status. Both properties are scheduled to reopen for the 2026/2027 winter season. 

Atom Hoteles sells AC Hotel Ciutat de Palma to Spanish family office

Spanish REIT Atom Hoteles SOCIMI has sold the four-star, 85-room AC Hotel Ciutat de Palma in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, to an undisclosed Spanish family office for €19.35 million (€227,600 per room). The property is situated near the promenade of Port de Palma. The hotel includes a restaurant and three meeting rooms. Following this divestment, Atom’s portfolio includes 22 four- and five-star hotels. 

Room00 acquires Mecenate Palace Hotel in Rome

Spanish owner-operator Room00 Next Gen Hospitality has acquired the four-star, 62-room Mecenate Palace Hotel in Rome, Italy. The property is situated in central Rome next to the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major and the Roma Termini train station. The hotel includes a rooftop restaurant, bar and meeting room. The transaction is reportedly valued at €12 million (€193,500 per room), including the acquisition price and the costs of repositioning the hotel under SELECT Natural Hotels, Room00’s luxury urban hotel brand. Room00’s expansion is backed by the American global alternative asset manager King Street Capital Management. 

Zetland Capital sell Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club in the UK

Funds managed by UK private equity firm Zetland Capital have sold the four-star, 247-room Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club in Northamptonshire, UK, to an undisclosed UK-based family business. The property is situated on a 150-acre site between Northampton and Birmingham. The hotel includes a restaurant, two bars, a leisure centre, 61 meeting rooms and a championship‑standard 18‑hole golf course.  

Gaiarooms acquires Hotel Ipanema Vigo in Spain

Spanish owner-operator Gaiarooms has acquired the three-star, 60-room Hotel Ipanema Vigo in Spain. The hotel includes a breakfast restaurant and is situated in the city centre of Vigo, on the northwest Iberian Peninsula, about a 1.5-hour drive north of Porto. Following the acquisition, the property was renamed Hotel Ipanema by gaiarooms, bringing Gaia’s portfolio in Galicia to five properties.
