HVS has named Shannon Sampson as the new head of its Advisory Services in the Caribbean region. Sampson, based in South Florida, will oversee consulting and valuation services for hospitality projects throughout the Caribbean.
Sampson has worked at HVS for nearly 20 years and has experience in market and feasibility studies, facility recommendations, valuations, and consulting for hospitality assets. His recent project work includes assignments in Aruba, the Bahamas, and Turks & Caicos, as well as resort and complex projects in Key West.
The appointment was announced in connection with the 2025 Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference & Operations Summit (CHICOS), where current sector trends were reported. According to the conference, the Caribbean hospitality sector is showing continued resilience and growth. Regional occupancy rates remain in the mid-70% range, average daily rate (ADR) is at peak levels, and revenue per available room (RevPAR) has stabilized after two years of record performance. The performance has been driven by luxury resorts, mixed-use developments, and branded residences.
Sampson’s role will include providing advisory services to clients investing in the Caribbean hospitality market. His responsibilities will include asset class definition, service-level recommendations, and facilities program planning for proposed developments. He will also address regulatory challenges, demand forecasting, financing, pipeline dynamics, and regional trends.
Sampson recently participated as a speaker at the CHICOS Conference and published an overview of the event. HVS stated that his appointment is intended to provide clients in the Caribbean region with direct access to localized market intelligence and strategic guidance.
No additional changes to HVS’s organizational structure or office locations were announced in connection with this appointment.
