  • Kristin Oliver is set to succeed Malaika Myers as Chief Human Resources Officer at Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a key leadership transition within its executive team. After seven years with the company, Malaika Myers will retire as Chief Human Resources Officer at the end of May 2025. Kristin Oliver will succeed Myers, taking up the role effective May 12, 2025.

Oliver brings a wealth of experience from various C-suite roles at HanesBrands, Walgreens, Chico’s, and Walmart. Over the past 15 years, she has displayed consistent leadership in HR at several major consumer brands. In her new position at Hyatt, Oliver will be responsible for setting and implementing the company’s global HR strategy to support future growth.

Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt’s President and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about Oliver’s appointment. He highlighted her extensive experience and purpose-driven approach, which will be vital as Hyatt evolves into a more brand-focused and agile enterprise.

In the coming months, Oliver will relocate from North Carolina to the Hyatt’s global headquarters in Chicago.

Hoplamazian also acknowledged Myers’ significant contribution to Hyatt. He praised her commitment to the company’s values and her role in championing open dialogue about mental health, which has left a lasting impact on Hyatt’s culture. Under her leadership, Hyatt’s global Opportunity Youth program RiseHY is nearing its goal of 10,000 hires.
