Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened the Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde, marking the debut of the Hyatt Centric brand in Puerto Rico.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde Hotel, the first Centric-brand hotel in Puerto Rico. The hotel is located in Isla Verde, a neighborhood in San Juan, and is situated near Isla Verde Beach, local restaurants, nightlife, and shopping areas. The property is approximately a five-minute drive from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.
The Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde was developed following a $30 million renovation of the former Verdanza Hotel. The newly refurbished hotel offers 223 guestrooms and suites, featuring city and partial ocean views. The room design incorporates elements inspired by Puerto Rico’s natural environment, including the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, and the local mountains.
Guests of the hotel have access to Vivo Beach Club, an oceanfront private beach club offering amenities including three pools, four dining and bar options, and an outdoor concert stage with a capacity of 3,500. The hotel provides complimentary access and shuttle service to this facility.
On-site amenities at the Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde include a resort-style pool deck with a jacuzzi, an open-air restaurant and bar, a 24-hour fitness center, and a splash pad for children. The hotel is pet-friendly and offers pet amenities.
The hotel features two dining options: Alba, a full-service restaurant serving Puerto Rican cuisine, and Espresso Lab, a coffee shop offering local and artisanal coffee. Executive Chef Efraín Cruz oversees the hotel’s culinary operations.
The property includes over 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space, which comprises indoor and outdoor venues, including a rooftop terrace with ocean views. The facilities are designed to accommodate corporate events, social gatherings, and meetings.
Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde is now the sixth Hyatt hotel in Puerto Rico, joining Hyatt Place San Juan, Hyatt House San Juan, Hyatt Place Bayamon, Hyatt Place Manati, and Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico. The hotel is managed by Highgate Hotels, a management firm with a portfolio spanning North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Europe.
