It looks like spring in Vancouver has everyone feeling refreshed and inspired, and not just locals. Nick Jonas is in town filming a new project, and in a new video entitled “I love Vancouver” on the Jonas Brothers’ YouTube channel, he takes us along Davie Street, raving about life in the city.

“I’ve been in Vancouver just over a month filming White Elephant, and today, I’m going to show you some of my favourite spots in the great city of Vancouver.”

Jonas makes several stops at local businesses along the way, after a nod to a beautiful cherry blossom season that’s now coming to a close.

Nick’s favourite coffee shop in Vancouver

First, the actor-musician stops into Nine Bar Coffee in Yaletown, his “favourite coffee shop in Vancouver.”

His order? An iced americano with a dash of cream. A classic!

What is Nick Jonas filming in Vancouver right now?

He then discusses the filming of White Elephant, which Jonas will star in alongside Kathryn Newton, KJ Apa, Madeleine Arthur, and Ashley Park, to name a few cast members.

“The movie is something I’ve been developing for a couple of years now,” Jonas explains. “It’s about a group of friends going away for Christmas and playing a game of White Elephant, a gift exchange game. One of the gifts is a winning lottery ticket for $15M, and shit hits the fan.”

While filming has just wrapped, a release date for the film has not yet been announced.

A six-night concert series

In the vlog, Jonas continues to stroll through Yaletown, hinting at another recently announced project he’s working on: A Night With Nick.

The six-date tour is a lot more intimate than the stadiums and arenas he and his brothers often sell out.

“The tour is all about connection. It’s going to be a little stripped down musically, just so I can tell my stories and talk about the different chapters of my journey—both with the brothers and solo.

Jonas explains how his discography spans so many different personal and professional eras that there are some songs of his he’s forgotten about, like “Find You” and “Right Now.”

That’s where this concert series comes in. According to the artist, he plans to curate a special evening for the listeners who have followed along since the beginning.

In the video, he dives into how he feels about his music, listing his favourite tracks from each studio album.

For curious fans, here’s which songs stand out to the artist himself:

  • “Appreciate” – Nicholas Jonas
  • “State of Emergency” – Who I Am
  • “Push” – Nick Jonas (Deluxe)
  • “Bacon” – Last Year Was Complicated
  • “Heights” – Spaceman
  • “I Need You” – Sunday Best

As for his favourite Jonas Brothers’ hit, Jonas shares that “Love Bug” is “the main event.”

Darts, a “cheeky drink,” and “the best Indian food in town”

Around the six-minute mark of the video, he heads into Soho Bar & Billiards for a round of darts and a Coors Light.

“Now it’s time for some dinner, and we don’t have to go far,” Jonas says after stopping into the bar. “The best Indian food in town is right here, at Tasty Indian Bistro.

Jonas reveals his spread of dishes at his “go-to spot for Indian food,” enjoying his meal and then taking photos with the staff on camera.

“Now it’s time to finish the day like I finish every day, which is by watching the full broadcast of the 2002 Video Music Awards.”

For the remainder of the video, the vlog captures Jonas in his Yaletown hotel room watching the VMAs. Honestly, we can’t blame him for revisiting the golden era of MTV.

Another Vancouver spot that got a shoutout was Cactus Club, where he often watches a little basketball and has a “cheeky drink” before heading to Soho for some darts.

“Vancouver’s been awesome. I love it when I come to new cities, and I’m actually able to explore and find my usual spots,” he shares.

We hope to see him around, uncovering more of his new favourite local gems. The weather certainly calls for exploring, Vancouver!
