If the season has crept up on you and you’re still looking for somewhere particularly cool to jet to this winter, we’ve got just the thing.

Remember last year (and the year before) when we covered that sparkling hotel made entirely of ice that was opening in Sweden? Well it’s back, and for its 35th reincarnation, no less.

Discover the World’s Icehotel 35 opened its doors in Jukkasjärvi on December 13, after six weeks of building. It comprises 500 tonnes of ice from the Torne River, as well as 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of ‘snis’ (snow and ice), all of which will melt back into the river in the springtime.

But this place is more than just a place to rest your head – there’s icy artwork dotted throughout the hotel, too, such as ‘WHOOPS WRONG ROOM!!’, an enormous rhinoceros head which features in one of the suites.

Here are some snaps of Icehotel 35.
