MGM Resorts International and Marriott International have announced their plans to convert a well-known property on the Las Vegas Strip into a W Hotel. This conversion forms part of the long-term strategic licensing agreement between the two companies, first initiated in July 2023.

The transformation of the property into the W Las Vegas is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The W Las Vegas will join 11 other properties on the Las Vegas Strip as part of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. This includes well-known names such as the Bellagio, ARIA Resort & Casino, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Since the launch of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy in March 2024, the partnership has seen a significant increase in bookings, surpassing initial projections. This collaboration allows the 200 million Marriott Bonvoy members to enjoy benefits and redeem points at MGM Resorts destinations. Similarly, MGM Rewards members can receive member benefits at Marriott’s portfolio of approximately 9,000 properties worldwide.

The W Las Vegas will be located on the Mandalay Bay Campus, and further plans for the property will be announced in the future. The W Hotels brand, known for its bold design and nightlife, aims to elevate travelers’ experiences in Las Vegas.
