It’s the end of an era at The Rag Machine on Main (located behind F as in Frank), as the beloved local thrift store is closing its doors after a decade of providing the city with some of the best and most affordable vintage finds.
To mark the end of the chapter, the team is throwing it back to the days of their popular “fill a bag” sales with a final closing sale for the books. Thrifters can fill a bag with as many finds as they can for a flat rate of $10, which was a steal even back in 2015 and 2016. In 2025, it feels practically illegal!
“We’re clearing out thousands of pounds of vintage clothing from all four of our F as in Frank’s stores for this one,” adds The Rag Machine. “If you miss this, you are passing up crazy deals on killer vintage pieces.”
In addition to vintage clothing and accessories, shoppers will be able to enjoy a myriad of closing party festivities, including drinks, a live DJ, prizes and giveaways, and 30% off at F As In Frank on Main and in Gastown.
Note that bags are supplied at the thrift store upon arrival, and doors open at 11 a.m. However, you may find that arriving earlier gets you closer to the start of the line.
Cash and cards are both accepted for the sale, though cash is encouraged if you want to get in quicker, according to The Rag Machine.
Prefer to check out some vintage pieces before closing day? The Rag Machine is offering pay-what-you-can from Thursday to Sunday, excluding the day of the sale.
The closing sale and party will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
When: Saturday, June 28, 2025
Time: Open from 11 a.m.
Where: 2425 Main St.
Cost: Free admission, fill a bag for $10
